Happy Emancipation Day! Tax Deadline Extended!

OK, so everyone knows that tax day is April 15th. But there are exceptions to the rule. The first exception is that if the tax deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, then the next business day becomes the tax deadline for that year. The second exception is that if the tax deadline (originally or after a move due to the clause above) falls on a national Holiday then they move it to the next day after that. This year we benefit from a loophole that states that if there is an official Holiday in Washington, DC it has the effect of a national holiday even if it is not celebrated anywhere else. Thanks for passing the resolution for Emancipation Day DC dudes!

The whole thing above is a moot point for me since I filed my taxes 6 weeks ago. But if you are still working on taxes and are looking for more deductions, check this information out Items Goodwill Industries Does Not Accept
